Please use the flag 'autoDetectHypelinks' in EditOptions.
This requires the brand new V5.12

downloaded ver 5.12 and it works very well except when you finish a link like http://www.google.com and then press space the hyperlink continues without breaking for the space. Also if possible it would be great to get ftp:// as well. Thanks

Hi,

Yes, it is not possible to do it otherwise without disturbing the editing a lot. It must be possible to have spaces in the text. It is up to the user to press 'cursor right' when the link is complete.

The code is in unit WPCtrMemo - it uses the new GetHistoryChars function which can ne useful for many things, such as text completion.
If you add this lines
s := GetHistoryChars(5);
if s='ftp:/' then MakeLinkLastChars(5);right after the code in line 3514
s := GetHistoryChars(6);
if s='http:/' then MakeLinkLastChars(6);you can check for 'ftp' links, too.

FYI my users are having a hard time with not being able to space after a hyperlink to cause it to stop hyperlinking. They expect it to work like outlook and therefore are calling tech support with what they perceive as a bug. Thanks for your help.

I took care about this for next release.
