Hi,
a TDBWPRichText is connected to TDataSource and to TBetterADODataSet.
When I do a:
BetterAdoDatasetContent.requery([eoAsyncFetchNonBlocking]);
the text is saved, but the FontSize is set to 10, no matter how I set it before or how DefaultFont.Size is.
Has anyone a hint for me?

the dafault font size will not be saved, only the character attributes will.
You can use this code in OnClear
procedure TForm1.DBWPRichText1Clear(Sender: TObject);
begin
with dbwprichtext1.DefaultAttr do begin
SetFontName('Courier New');
SetFontSize(18);
end;
with dbwprichtext1.WritingAttr do begin
SetFontName('Courier New');
SetFontSize(18);
end;
end;
to make sure the same font/size is used for new texts.
To make sure this information is always used for loaded text, too use this formatstrings to make the reader ignore the font information in RTF streams:
procedure TForm1.FormCreate(Sender: TObject);
begin
dbwprichtext1.TextLoadFormat := 'AUTO-nopageinfo,-ignorefonts,-ignorefontsize,-onlybody';
dbwprichtext1.TextSaveFormat := 'AUTO-nopageinfo,-ignorefonts,-ignorefontsize,-onlybody';

your help sounds really good. My only problem now ist, that my TDBWPRichText has no OnClear and also no DefaultAtr, only DefaultFont.
May be it's because of the Version? I have:
WPTools Version 4

yes, I was wrong. Posted V5 stuff.
In WPTools 4 you use the propety DefaultFont. After changing it at runtime you need to call 'Loaded'.

I added to my DefaultFont "Loaded" but nothing changed.
Meanwhile I tried some work arounds, but that doesn't work as well.
So do you have any other sugestion for keeping FontSize the same after saving?

Hi,
WPTools initializes the default font heigth from a global variable called GlobalFontSize.
You can set thios to a different value, also use GlobalFontName.

I need to allow my users to set the default font and size for when I open a screen using TDBWPRichText.
The user-defined font and size have already been set before I open the screen, I then want to set the TWPToolBar and the associated
TDBWPRichText (in delphi).
I cannot find any way to call a global default font or size, as given above.
I am on WPTools4.
Please check out the evnt OnClear.
THe toolbar is set to the current writing attribute by SetFocus or SetFocusValues.
Where can I access SetFocus or SetFocusValues? For WPTools4.
And where is the relevant documentation for the OnClear event?

The TWPRichText implements
procedure SetFocusValues(Always: Boolean);
All VCL controls have SetFocus
"OnClear" is triggered by the Clear procedure - when the text is cleared.
